thinkin about gettin an ls1 z28
sup guys. i don't know a whole lot about engines so i figured this would be a good place to ask this question. i'm thinkin about gettin an ls1 fbody..most likely a z28 (easiest..cheapest to find). n i'm just wonderin...with a mild cam...heads and exhaust can i push 420+rwhp. or would i possibly also need a chip?

420 rwhp = n/p
there are no chips(save those for the dips)
we use ls1 edit and hp tuners. (tuning software)
welcome to the board .
and let me be the first to introduce you to the search button.... any question you want to ask. first do a search you will find most of the questions have been covered
also, click the newbie link in my sig... read the whole thing, you will know ALOT more about ls1's when you are done.

[QUOTE=BlueSix]A 224/224 .581/.581 with a good set of heads will reach the number you are looking for and still be as docile as a labrador puppy.
yeah i just learned how pricy the heads are...the afr's i was lookin at are like 2500 bucks. i didn't think it'd be that much for a set of heads.

Heads definately aren't cheap, but you don't have to go for latest and greatest (AFR's) to make good power. Be sure to shop around, a good set of 5.3 can be had for less than $2000, and will probably work perfect for the numbers you are looking for.
