Drag Racing Results - Finally Took The M6 Cam Only Record Barely

just getting home from the thunder shootout. friday night the weather was feeling good, about 50degrees but humidity was like 80% or so(had to wipe window off to see for each run) i recently added the fast 90 setup and a brm extreme drag bar to straighten out my launch. car went a 10.770@126.59 with a 1.45 60 ft. woohoo. went a few 10.79s' and numerous 10.8's
on sunday during eliminations made it to the final round and screwed myself out of a possible first place by shallow staging just enough for the second stage light to turn off at the last second. :mad: there went a 300dollar mistake. Congrats to Fireball for handing my but on that run. the time slip never registered but i went ahead and ran it out anyhow, instead of going forward the nose went up :devil: im guessing it was a 1.4x but according to most people i had 3ft under the tires. weeeeeeeeee that was fun except for the losing thing. :cry: so i wound up with second place.
my best mph of the weekend was a 126.97
best 60ft was a 1.431 on a 10.801 run
and a new pb in the 1/8 mile of a 6.87@100.38
overall i had a blast meeting every one and hanggin out till 3am with you drunk nuts (crestwell, taner ;)
oh and the cars raceweight was 3375 for the weekend. i took the passenger seat out for friday night and lil weight so my record run was about 3310 or so :)
congrats to all on the new pb set in different classes
congrats to madman for destroying a record number of cars :jest: if you have traction problems he is the man to see.
and watchin k9kev chassing a guy down the track with the sirens on was funny also. :jest:

Wow that is gettin it done with a 6 speed. Also that is one hell of a 60' sounds like the track was really hookin dirty:drive:

Congrats man...your car was leaving the line HARD...I don't know what was up with the lights...it seemed that if anyone deep staged it would red light you...kinda sucks cuz I know a lot of people like to deep stage.

Rodney, I go to SAM and I've been wondering if you have had any P to V problems. I've talked to a lot of people and they have tried that cam but bent a couple of vavles, so if you could keep me posted so i know how long it lasts without breaking something.

lynda, i have no idea what i ran in the final round since i shallow staged it never registered on the slip or the board, all i know is that i was pissed that i screwed myself out of a possible 1st place. i dont mind losing to a better car or driver but i hate beating myself out of that chance. :bang: however it felt awsome to be reachin for second just as the front tires set down.

yea, i dunno what happened, track was just awsome, once i saw the red light i just punched the gas and said hell with it, see what happens, i figured it would just waste the tires, guess not. :eek2:

I was there at thunder running MS with another car , but i'd love to race you sometime with my cam only SS, I blew my clutch last friday at HRP, but i'll have a spec4 soon and we should meet up somewhere and run. I really don't know what it'll do with a good clutch, but i know it'll be competive with you (i hope) i went low elevens at a race weight of 3859,and a centerforce, but my car needs to go a diet first. So hoprfully we can meet up.

if you bring it to the sbso ill run you in february. im currently not puting any unnecessary passes on the car. cant risk the motor or trans until i reach my goal with it. :D

loged a few on a-tap to check shift points when setting my light and checkin for kr and timing. but thats bout it. Don't know what all atap logs, but with EFIlive, I can see my MPH leap immediately to 30 or so and stay there until I shift. It would be interesting to see what it looks like on car with ET drags.
