Question Does placement of the cats affect sound?

Stock location vs further down as with headers. the reason I ask is, I am doing true duals soon, and will have the stock manifolds and high flow cats, until I can get headers. So, if the HF cats are in the stock location, will the exhaust level be any quieter than further down? Thanks.

I don't believe it changes the sound. The position of the cat affects its functionality. The closer it is to the engine/manifolds the better then function. Achieving max temp and burning the unused fuel. The farther away from the engine they are, the less efficient they become.
