Hello I'm new to this forum and I have a problem with my 2000 C5. The car won't start up anymore. At first I thought it was the alternator and changed that then I changed the battery, same problem. The car has even cut off on me while driving. Everytime it stops the message low voltage shows up on the dic. Sometimes if I wait a few mintues and cut it on the car starts but now it won't even crank. The headlights still come on and the inside lights also come on but they appear very dim please help me.

Bad ground perhaps? What does the voltmeter in the dash read when the car is running? It should read 13-14 volts. its possible you got a bad replacement alternator. I've had it happen to me.

Welcome Aboard!

Go to Advance Auto or your favorite local auto parts chain store and have them test that new battery of yours. I'm betting it's bad or the charge is down on it. If your alternator is new, then, as already stated, I'd look for shorts, loose connections, bad wiring.

Good luck! ;)
