how many quarts for a 4l60e

how many quarts for a 4l60e Gonna change my tranny fluid this weekend, what do i need, how many quarts of dextron 3 and is there a filter???

Buy 6 quarts just to be safe but it should only take five.Yes there is a filter but the gasket should be reusable unless its been changed before. You will need a 13mm socket,atleast a 6 inch extension and a ratchet.You will also need a big drain pan.Im not sure of the filter part number but where ever you get your fluid just ask the parts person for a transmission filter for a 4l60e and you will then have everything you need
