If your going to buy high dollar heads I would get the AFR 225's. These heads will start pulling away from the 205's @3000 rpm and beyond. They would also be the perfect match for a 383 and bigger stroker motor.

Probably have better resale value also. IMO.

If you are gonna go for AFR's wait for the 225's. With a cam that big they should shine. Otherwise go with the 2.5 LS6 heads.

both have made great power, both have made not so great power. its all in the rest of the whole combo not simply which heads you have.

TEA AFR's none better! They have several programs for the AFR's right now that seem to be working rather well as well as an afr 225 program.

Man that was what I was going to say. If you are going to spend that much money, have TEA port and hand finish the AFR's. That's gotta be the ultimate IMO.

the heads went to TEA for milling-porting and polishing. the intake is getting port matched. im gonna set my quench the right size and i will notch the slugs if i have to. also, since i blew my rear im going with 4.10's so ill loose sum power there

i figured the compression and quench would be changed also, that was a given in my question. being as the head change is the major difference its going to be interesting to see how she turns out, especially keeping the same cam.

sucks we have to wait till spring for the results though

I am thinking the TEA ported AFR 205's would flow about the same as the less expensive AFR 225's. But people who already have the 205's can improve them to 225 numbers by having them ported by TEA. Can somebody prove me wrong?

BUY THE 225's !!!
