well im lookin into gettin a good size cam and heads among other things. when i get the rear end, what kinda gear do i wanna run. im told no lower than 4.10 and was thinking 4.33. what kinda trap speeds are run hitting just below 11.00 sec in the 1/4? my goal is to dip into the 10's after some practice at the track. what do you guys think? cam duration is getting around 240. also what kinda power will i need to make for 10's?

If you plan to go lower than 11.00 E.T., then you will probably run out of gears with 4.10's. It all depend on what tires you plan to use, your shiftpoints, where you limiter is set, etc...
IMO, 3.73's or 3.90's would be better.

how would that be with a big cam, dealing with the surge and what not. rev i am thinking about 6600-6800 its a manual tranny. i forgot to factor in ET street size. how big are they??

There are alot variables that contribute to that...gear ratio, shift points, tire size....

I'm running the times and gears in the sig on a 26inch tire and I'm turning a touch under 6450 when I go thru the lights. If you run a 26inch tire you NEED 4.30's for 125mph traps at 6800 thru the traps.. taking into account for .5in of tire growth. I'm changing my 4.10/26in tire combo for a 4.56/28in tire setup. I plan on 127 or so traps @ 6800rpm.
