How much displacement are you planning on?
A single 350-400 DP shot would place a huge strain on any engine. I think you would have much better success spraying a shot that large in multiple stages.

i want to try to do it without boring my block very much..... i would like to leave it a 346 or maybe even go to like a 382. i know it can be done. the nitrous kit i have has been 9.20. it was on tom kempf's car. its on the AP engineering website. i just want to run down in the 9's,,,,

I have to say if you are going to make the attempt with stock cubes then you will need some really nice coated pistons. Probally diamond could make something nice for you. Also the rod's might be expensive. Launti Pro Billet Rods are about 1100 dollars, the Oliver I beam's are around 1200, and the Carrillo Rods are between 1500-1800 dollars. That is damn expensive.
A 350-400 shot of gas is a whole lot and unless you have the perfect setup everywhere else wont really do you that much good.
The car that went 9.20's was setup to run at the track.
The tires, wheels, torque arm, shocks, springs, rool cage, rear end, TUNING, heads, cam, bottom end, subframes, taking weight out were all important in geting that car into the low 9's. A 10 second car is more easily achieved and still have a everyday driver. You can do it with a stock bottom end. I would suggest if you are spraying more then 150 to still consider forged parts.

NOS is hard on parts and it doesn't take that much to make the power to get into the 9's. The suspension is another (and equally, if not more important) consideration though ...
Lots of companies can make the pistons (Diamond, JE, CP, Ross) but if you're serious about spraying that much a custom piston is going to be what you want. The ring package will come with the custom piston and the ring selection isn't difficult, just specific.
Have you considered that an engine designed to take that much NOS really isn't going to be a 'long haul' motor? Are you prepared to pull it and tear it down if you're serious about making that much power?
