Default Cartek clutch=BOOM!

AAAARRRGGGGG
yesterday coming home from work was in 3rd gear not pushing it hard(maybe 1/2 throttle) i hear BOOM clutch peddle kicks my foot. I'm like
The shifter had been kicked out of gear, I was 100 yards from my house (uphill) so i tried getting it in gear to limp it home. No dice, it would not go into any gear. Inspected it today and it looks like it took my tranny with it

Anyone else have any troubles with this clutch ?

What, did the pressure plate collapse or something and take a **** load of teeth with it? That sounds crazy for the tranny to break because of the clutch!

Any chance of some pictures of the assembly and the T-56?

I"ll be surprised if it took out your Tranny. I've lost some clutches and never done any tranny damage. Hope that's your case once you tear into it. Good luck.

It's happened before with Cartek clutches... I have heard of at least 2 other instances (if you do a search for Cartek exploded in the M6 section). That's why I switched out my Cartek for the Ram (because my car is primarily race - to 7500 RPMs - is very hard on the clutch, and I wanted something that was SFI rated). I sold my Cartek to a buddy for his stock daily driver, and it's still doing fine... but I didn't want to take any chances on it.

Are the problems mainly with some piece of the clutch plate assembly(bolt, spring) blowing through the tranny case, or does it booger up the input shaft somehow?
