Mr. Harman your hood is be binded together tomorrow, and all that is left is cleaning up edges and feathering everything out, then it goes to the paint shop. I forgot to ask you if you wanted anything special on the nostrils (painted the same color of the hood silver, or if you want them black like the stock ws6 hood).

Just to let these parties know, I now have a full time helper so parts will be coming out faster than in the past.

The carbon fiber t-tops are finished and will ship out to Mr. Rick Fleck tomorrow and the tracking number will be posted tomorrow.

Andrew : Your Cowl camaro hood has the gelcoat and applied to the mold as soon as that dries the carbon fiber will be layed in and begin the process of setting it up.

Chris P. :The camaro ultra z hood has the top half started and same as above is waiting on the gelcoat to harden to begin the bottom side of the hood.

Adam : I have already once sent you the box and amp rack, but due to your dis-satisfaction I will once again go ahead and complete this for you and take it to the paint shop to get it painted, as I would like to have you satisfied, the only thing you expressed problems with was the paint job, so this time it will be painted by a professional. (and for the record I never blamed the paint job on anyone. The cracks and chips, etc... were done in shipping as I am sure you can easily see)

Libertine : I told you once before that the delete kit was finished, if you would like this heavy thing I will gladly ship it to you, but I do not want to put my name on this thing. I gave this to bruce in order for him to finish it to prove his skills and when I get it back it weighs in excess of 35lbs, and is painted with spray paint primer instead of PPG primer, which is what was expected. I told you I would like to re-do this item and ship it to you my way, but I have received emails stating that you no longer wanted the part and to keep the money along with some other colorful choice words.

What the hell did you expect?? Havent heard anything for how long?? How many times did you say it was shipping within days?? If you couldnt do the work right you shouldnt have taken the job, am I supposed to wait another 8 or 9 months?? I guess Im just tired of the bullshit. You want to send the money back? go ahead you have my contact info. Ill hold my breath starting...........now!

P.S. when you steal money from people (dont know what else you would call taking money and not delivering any product) you might get cused at a bit. I will dog you forever on all the F Body sites for the way you have handled this so get used to it.

Now maybe I wouldn't be in such a bad mood if I would have made some sort of money working 5 freakin weekends 12 to 13 hours a day helping you out to get crap finished and you were on the phone talking about buying bikes and VETTES and everything else. Go figure yes I am pissed about that it wasn't cool I thought you were a cool guy as well until you kept promissing me thinks and they never happened.

Sounds pretty damn fimiliar and if you must know now Chad I have a shop and am currently installing a real paint booth. Me and Kirk found a backer for our business so hopefully that takes off for me. Also I want everyone to know Chad does have the abilities to make cool stuff he is just lacking in the motivation area. That being said I want to end this on a good note if you would have paid me at least the freakin gas money I wasted driving 98 miles round trip to your house more than once maybe I would have come back. But some people talked some good sense into me and I waited to see what happened.

Man you can say what you want to but I am going to tell you one thing that damn rear set delete looked like crap from the get go. I offered to paint it because I was on the understanding it would gel coated and rady for primer and paint. Well when I arrived to get the part it wasn't either heck it wasn't even finished not only did it not bolt into the car at all. I had to do more work to it just to make it look good all the cheese cloth that was hanging out and Bondo work that was cracking. Hell it already weighed 25 pounds when I got it I weighed it. And I know I didn't put that much more bondo onto it except to get to line up with the factory seat brackets and I had to use my own fiberglass to do that.

You can call me a moron all day but as far as I am concerned your the moron you are either in a business agreement with Chad or you are working for him. I really don't care fact is I could sue the little bastard for slander just from the information I have gotten from this site. On top of that I could take him to court for man hours not paid and if I felt like it I could do a mechanics REPO wanna play hard ball I can throw it right back nuckle head. O and my moms a Lawyer so I don't have to go to far for legal advise. As far as I am concerned I could care less what he does in his own time. He has ben banned from 3 different boards for shitty results and poor customer service.

His words to me where well we are going to put foam and carpet on it so its not that important to have it perfect just primer it with anything raeally soon so we can get it shipped out.

Now to top that off I went back and checked what month I had live fire excercises in the Reserves WE WERE PRACTICING TO GO SOMEWHERE AT THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that was the weekend after I dropped off the Rear seat delete with Chad to go out. And guess what it was the End of August. I am truely sorry if I am worrying you anymore about your hood you haven't recieved. Trust me I know how it is not to get anything for your hard working time and in this case your hard working money. I'm waiting on a hood, have been since July. I saw pics of it mostly finished in late Aug. but apparantly that one fit like shit and was weak. The carbon fiber for the "revised" hood is suposed to be laid this week so we shall see. I'd rather have to wait and get a half decent product, as long as I know he's not screwing his customers I'm happy. Employees seem to be a different story though, hopefully his new helper doesn't come across this thread.

I hope the poor guy that is helping him is getting paid he offered to bring me out full time along time ago as well but he couldn't afford to pay me what I make at my present job.. So I told him thats cool I will work the weekends until you get some paid orders to pay me because at the time he had me conveinced that we where jsut makeing the parts and then selling them. Hey GM muscle would that hood happen to be like the meacham hood but for a Camaro if so you diff. don't want it tell he does redo it other wise you will have something that will eventually break while driving and that wouldn't be good.

well that looks better than the interior carbon fiber parts that he did for me. I guess he must have done some practicing with all my carbon fiber that he decided to keep. Glad to see some good came of it all.

Well actually 01 he did alot of practicing. If you could say the least but I am more than willing to bet he finally started vacumm bagging the things the right way like I told him to from the start. It goes alot faster and you get better quality parts the crap side is makeing the mold and putting the micro holes in it as well but once again my dumb butt gave him the way to do that with clay. Incase you guys are wondering my dad, uncle, and my older sister are all engineers everytime I had a problem they knew someone in th aircraft industy I could talk to on how to do this or that just right with Carbon Fiber. The only problem is I shared all that knowledge with Chad well at least you guys are starting to get stuff done now.

O and by the way 01 I tried to convince him to let you have that crap but it was to no avail. At least you got it put back together for the fair your car looked awesome by the way were did you get your TB cable holder chromed at by any chance

99tastallionkiller, I am waiting on the Sunoco style hood. From what I hear it had the same problems as the Mecham style hood plus it fit like shit.

Well I can tell you guys this we used my interior stuff to well say learn how to do it correctly lets just say in a few days i am going to get some stuff to break down epoxy and rip it off. It looks good on some spots but others it just plain sucks.

Well he told me that he was doing the vacume thing on my parts. Part of my problem was it looked like crap and when I told him about the parts that I had a problem with he acted like I was crazy and the parts were perfect. I wasn't about to put some ugly looking crap in my car knowing that I show it about once every couple months. The stuff that he did on my car was all wrinckled and wasn't smooth. There were two small parts that looked good but that was it. To top it all off he then tried to make an excuse that it was hard to do the curves (which I can understand) but he still said the stuff looked great. Then he blamed the resin because it was cheap. He told me to buy that resin so I did. I never saw any clay when I went up there that last time. There wasn't any sign of it but he told me he used it. I think he just wraped my factory parts in foil and laid the carbon fiber over that.

Oh well whats done is done. If he learned how to work with the materials than good. I hope everybody that has ordered parts gets a good quality product.


99stallionkiller I got the throttle body shaft chromed when I got the TB powdercoated from Jantzer. It cost a pretty penny but it was worth every cent.

I would start up a business and become a sponsor but both take money which I don't have right now Chad from what I have seen as taken money but told me he never did such a thing and then started working I would rather have the parts ready to sell then take the money. Your right 99stallionkiller the parts that looked good were the parts where the mirrors go and the ash tray lid. Those were the only real parts that were even ready after a month the bezel looked like crap and he told me it was all ready in the email I got a couple days before.

I didn't like that Chad wanted half the money upfront which is why I went a spent all the cash on the carbon fiber and resin. I figured that would take care of the half upfront. Sure didn't help that he wanted to raise the price on me either. Here he told me He spent a lot on making the molds. Now I know I was right and he just used the foil

My does a little work out of his gaurge for his upholstery business and he doen't ask for a single cent upfront. I think that is the way everyone should do it

NO I dont have any pictures. Chad kept everything including my factory parts that HE messed up. He said I would get something once I paid him. I wasn't about to pay for work that looked like a two year old did.

Chad posted some pics of them a while back when he tried to sell the parts. The pictures weren't any good though. It was dark and the flash reflected off the parts so you couldn't see them very well

Well gameover the headlight covers are probably the easiest part to make no joke. All he did was take off Richards!!!!!!!!!!!headlight cover put some foil on it suck a piece of carbon fiber down over it in the vacumm bag method I showed him and impregnate the piece I could do that all day long after that its just a matter of cutting the excess off with a diamond tipped cutter and your prety much done probably took us about 3 hours total makeing those things. I could whip you up a set for probably around 125 includeing parts and I know he as got to be selling them for more than that.

Well the way Chad did it and the way I would ahve done it are different but both will get you in the right direction. He put foil all down the hood and then uses a foaming agent on it to make a hard mold then he just takes it off. And you have a top mold only problem with that method is you get alot of little spots that aren't really right.

My method is to use Clay and alot of it you press it on in strips well its wet and compress it dwon at the same time. Then let it dry for a few days and pop it off you have a perfect mold of the tod and then you just do the same thing on the bottom. it cost alot more to do but as alot of people know to get quality it doesn't come cheap. Chad is doing an o.k. job with the stuff and he can make some pretty bad ass stuff but he takes alot and I mean alot of time doing it and it may or may not work out. I have about 13 years experience working in my uncles custom body shop so I know alot of little things to make things really bad ass. And if I don't know it I usually know someone who knows how to do it.

HE put that foam stuff on my console and didn't put anything down to protect it and ruined the console.

I know he did that I showed up after he did it he was like I didn't know it would stick and all there is alot of stuff I think he was learning how to do and that might have been one of them. I do know 01 he was looking at buying you a new one though so I know he knew he fudged it up.

He acted like he didn't want to replace it. He said "Why would you want that stuff when I was going to make you all new parts" I told him that we agreed that I would get new parts plus the stock parts back. Once I told him I would look into the price for the replacement parts and just take that out of what I was going to pay him he said he would take care of it.

I have been following these threads about fabricator for a few months now...I am really sorry that some of you guys are going thru hell to get your parts....it is horrible that people like chad (fabricator) are getting away with treating their customers horribly....
please do not listen to the methods listed above about making molds from hoods - yes, you can use clay or foam to pull a mold from a hood, but this will not make a quality hood-it is a quick and cheap method of doing something - and you will end up with a lot of problems both on the molds and the parts themselves. But in all honesty, it takes a lot more work/time/money to do this stuff the right way....IMO you guys should've been charged less for parts that are made cheaply....
I hope that everyone recieves their parts or their money back from these guys......

Actually the clay was just to get the pattern then you take that to a machine shop and they make a real mold out of billet or steal it is pretty damn expensive if you ask me.

He also has numerous people (myself included) who have been waiting months for things that have allready been paid for.

And to think, right before I deployed over here to Afghanistan, in March...I started researching the Sunoco Camaro. I ended pm'ing with him about the Hood, at which time he tried to convince me to get the rear spoiler, front fenders and rear flares also, all in CF! He wanted $1700 for the Sunoco Cowl Hood replica, but for a package deal it would be a little less. With a minimum of 50% down and no lead time given, I was skeptical, thank God. Since then I ordered and received a VFN Cowl Hood during a GP, although I havent been home to install it, everyone says it looks very nice, and in FG it was way cheaper. Best of all, I got what I asked for, and a delivery time that was good to go, not to mention the late nights for me waiting to get around to time zone changes, but all in all happy camper.
I was honestly about to call and order the CF Sunoco stuff, but that gut feeling was hitting me hard.

I wish those that ventured down the fabricator road the best of luck, and hope it all gets settled and with satisfactory results.

look I spoke with chad on saturday. I still don't know any status on what he is doing. He pretty much quit telling me. I retrieved some of the parts off of my car that he had, but still have a few to get after christmas. I'm sure chad still reads this board, as he made mention to me about a post my wife made that has since disappeared. I wish I could help some of you guys out more, but I can't put myself in the middle of any more bs. We all have more than our share of problems to deal with. I will say that it appeared to me that he is still working on everyones stuff. He needs to really work on developing the "business" aspect of his work and keep in contact with customers, and deal with the complaints more directly. everyone has places for improvement.

I think the thread was been pruned because it got off track. None the less, both you and your wife have helped clear up some stories for us and you two where atleast able to tell us that Chad didn't just pick up and run. I thank you guys for that and I don't blame you for getting any more involved than you have to. :)

Have to look at it from my perspective as well, I have had this happen all to often now, I am tired of being the bad guy here, and issueing refunds everytime I turn around just because the buyer no longer wants an item, or thought the item would turn out differently.

One thing I did do before I started this business is study the law and find out what is fair and legit in business. Asking for half the funds up front for a non-refundable deposit filters out all those tire kickers, and thus insures that once a project is started it will be finished or the project will be forfeited.

I am truely sorry it had to come to this, but you have to look at it from both sides. You would expect to be paid for your work, whether the buyer wanted it or not, I on the other hand have only the materials paid for the other half of the funds were going towards labor, which were never received and now never will.

well i just found all of this today, i havent spoken to chad for 2 weeks. last he told me he was out of pocket at the moment but in a few days would have the underside of my hood finished. i sent him the full amount for the carbon fiber ultra z hood i wanted in which he responded to one of my wanted ads on cz28.com. i left him a message that i found all this stuff and wanted either my hood delivered or an immediate refund. well see if he gets back to me, not likely.

Mr. Harman your hood is be binded together tomorrow, and all that is left is cleaning up edges and feathering everything out, then it goes to the paint shop. I forgot to ask you if you wanted anything special on the nostrils (painted the same color of the hood silver, or if you want them black like the stock ws6 hood).

Just to let these parties know, I now have a full time helper so parts will be coming out faster than in the past.

The carbon fiber t-tops are finished and will ship out to Mr. Rick Fleck tomorrow and the tracking number will be posted tomorrow.

Andrew : Your Cowl camaro hood has the gelcoat and applied to the mold as soon as that dries the carbon fiber will be layed in and begin the process of setting it up.

I know this is a little late but i thought i would add my expierence. I was in search of a lt4 hotcam and chad emailed me saying he had a brand new lt4 hotcam for 100 bucks. I agreed to it and sent him a cashiers check for it. Well he was very responsive to emails and sent the cam next day fed ex and didn't charge me shipping. Anyways i recived the cam and at the time had no idea how to identify if it was a lt4 hot cam or not. I installed it and the engine never ran as it should, due to some lower end problems i pulled the engine and removed the cam. Now knowing how to identify the lt4 hotcam i find that this cam isn't even a gm cam. Its a regrind of some sort and have no idea what it is. Anyways after reading/following this thread i feel that i shouldn't even put forth the effort to try and contact him. I'm just a little pissed off he screwed me out of this cam, I know my problems aren't as big as some of your others but i thought i would vent a little.

there are a lot of people who had a problem with him. not sure how it all turned out. I got my headlight covers. but after about 1 month of them being on the car, one of them flew off of the car while I was driving and the other one fell off the car when it was sitting in the driveway. on both the clips were the weak point and they broke off. of course there is no getting in contact with him. so I will just chaulk it up to a loss.
