Default 383 N/A 6-speed...10.26!

Took the car out to Lapeer Dragway today for a few passes. Not sure about the DA or anything but the temp was 54 degrees. It went 10.51, 10.56 and back to back 10.35's with mph all in the 132-133.XX! We went back and pulled out most of the interior (race weight about 3250) and headed up for another pass. Got up to the line, hit the 2-step but we had knocked off the ground! Left the line at like 7000rpm! It spun the tires a little then hooked like a ****! 10.27 at 133.9X with a 1.49! Hell yea! Fixed the 2-step and headed up to the line ready to run a 10.1X...then old man winters came along and booted us for not having a bullet proof bellhousing ! Do they even make one for our cars!!! We got into it with the guy but he wasn't going to budge! The car definately had 10.1X in it today! We are so pissed because I believe the 6-speed N/A record is a 10.12 at 134.5 set by Futral Motorsports. Ohh well it was close! All the tracks close around here soon...maybe next year!

Ohh yea...here is a pic that a guy took of it today!

Actually I wrote that wrong, Alan Futral's sig says 10.21 @ 134.5. I'm pretty sure that is his 346 N/A run.

Thanks Taner! I will look into one of the kevlar blankets, is it NHRA legal? I was even thinking of making a shield to wrap around the bellhousing out of 1/4" steel. Not sure if that will be legal or not either.

The motor is a Livernois 383 stroker, Lunati rotating assembly, 13.1 compression, Livernois solid roller set-up, LS6 heads w/ 2.02/1.57 valves, LS2 intake, Fast 90mm TB, Grott 1 3/4" headers. Exedy Racing twin disc, Liberty Pro-shifted T56, chromoly DS, Moser 9" w/ 4.57 and Detroit Locker. BMR suspension, AJE K-member and lower control arms, Afco shocks.

We have about made about 12 passes with this set-up. Took it down to Thunder with not one pass on it! 10.77 of the trailer and it just keeps getting faster! Went 10.46 @ 132.9 at Thunder. Too bad it's the end of the year, might have gone faster!

Congrats that is sweet especially considering the timeframe during which the car was built.

well, it is built to meet the specs, but no it wasn't certified. i DO KNOW that if anything ever lets go it will save my limbs! that is good enuff for me! costs to much to certify it.

Congrats on the awesome runs.

Almost there, 1.49, you're there with a tiny improvement there.

Wow, great runs.

I have a T56 bellhousing blanket that's got an SFI label on it. Got it from http://www.exoticmuscle.com (under F-body / F-body Parts / Safety, all the way at the bottom). You can see it here: http://www.akmcables.com/engrear.jpg

McLeod has a bellhousing available - sort of, they shipped a few, and they were more 'cut to fit universal bellhousing' projects than a real LS1 bellhousing (from my understanding). Haven't seen many past the initial batch posted about. I bet there's not a half dozen guys running them yet.
