Default 5.4 LS1 high revver???

A friend and I were talking about the feasability of building a high RPM (and possible boost) motor. We were thinking small stroke and big bore. If you took the crank from a 4.8 and the block from a 6.0 you would give birth to a 5.4 Is this possible and how high would you spin it? Or should we lay off the

For boost setups I could see why! but very, very expensive.

Talk about no TQ. I have heard of a 5.7 going to 8k or are u wanting to go higher. The stock PCM has to be swapped if you want to go past 8k

A couple of folks have debated this in the Truck forum. The low RPM torque loss would be kinda bad in a big azz truck but a lighter vehicle might like it.
BigTex/Richard did some good research as far as the crank/piston/block offsets and sizing was concerned.
Try thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...&highlight=327 as a starter or search the truck section using "327" or "stroker"

Not a problem building just use the 4.8 crank and rods and replacement 6.0 pistons. I have seen that combo as well and am interested in such combos on how they turn out.

Valvetrain is the limiting factor here, not piston speed. If piston speed or ruling of a sanctioning body dictated low displacement, then go with a shorter stroke.
