Default Good True Duals Setup

Ok I am going to put true duals on my car but I need to know what is a good setup. I am going to use my stock headers for now, so what would be a good brand x-pipe, and mufflers. I want my car to sound mean and aggressive. I want people to know when I pull up. I want it after the axle too, and if anyone can tell me if it is going to be illegal or not

It's going to be very very costly to go all the way past the axle and I doubt it would be worth a whole lot with stock manifolds. Personally I would do headers before any other exhaust work, save perhaps a cutout. But, to each his own.

Sounding "mean" is relative:
Borla xr-1's or magnaflow 4x9's will quiet the true duals
Sweet thunder chambered mufflers or bullets will make it louder
Both sound DEEP.
If you go over the axle with real mufflers the setup will be legal, if you do dumps with bullets the setup will be illegal.
I'd go with a Dr. Gas x pipe

Btw, I'm with ls1maniac, don't do true duals with stock exhaust manifolds. The manifolds choke too much and the sound will not be as deep. Get headers first, then true duals (spoken from a Hooker LT and TSP duals owner, too).

If you had stock '01-'02 manifolds with, say, gutted cats and 2.5" true duals(Dr. Gas! X of course) behind that - it would sound great and make EXCELLENT power!
