Well went to the track yesterday my shitty track the only one open this time of year and it was a Joke!I was told with my combo I should be running a 122-123 traps. But the best 60 I could get was a 2.06 at 12.17 at 119.3mph and that was on ET Streets @ 12 psi:(Had I got the 60's down where they should be with my 4000 verter would I see my Traps come up???I mean spinning thru 1st thru second is bad.On this run above I was spinning let off alittle until I hit second floored it again and brokem loose. Thanks for the input on this ,I am a little confused right now

Sounds like a horrible track...

With an A4 it's all about the first 8th mile, even more important is the 60ft.. if you don't do well there, the whole run will be off.

Untill you can get it hooked up, even a little. It's not going to see it's potential.

If you have a low powered car, you can improve 60' times and have less mph through the traps, with a big converter.

But with the power you're putting down, you should see a little better et and trap, if you get the 60' down.

I'm running 12.1x times at 113mph... And they tell me the 113 is good for 11's. So if you're trapping 119, then there's definitely more there.

yes John It is a very horrible track:(I am going to wait until late spring early summer to go again.I see your times and my MPH is almost where yours is but the times thats a whole different story,My 1/8 was something like 8.2 Thats terrible concidering I ran with cam only at 7.4 in the 1/8 mile.John D. I agree I think by going to a real track in warmer weather will be a little more on the top.I think I may go to slicks next year ,I havent decided yet but I have time for that....Thanks again....

You are talking about Lapeer right? I have been running 26x11.50x17 et streets there and pulling low 1.5 60's. I had to play with suspension quite a bit to get there but it never ran worse than 1.8 60. I was there sunday with a buddy and I think I saw your car. You had the Welds on the rear only correct? I am going to run there this Sunday if they will let the car in. If you tell me what you have suspension wise mabee I could help you out.

Hey GPowrie,That was me!What car were you in?I have adj Hal Drag shocks all the way around Drag springs in front,BMR Torque arm,My pinion angle is -1.00 I think? Mac LCA and mac SFC...I didnt get enough runs to play with my shock adjustment.Where would you set em for Lapeer? Thanks for the Help....

I was in the silver TA, we broke the motor early in the day. I have my hals set on 3 front and 10 rear. Do you have control arm relocation brackets on the car? If you do not that will make a huge difference. My pinion angle is at -2. The silver car prior to breaking was running 1.7 60's on 18 inch drag radials and more basic suspension than either of our cars.

GPowrie,I think I remember seeing you guys there.I dont have LCA Relocate brackets.I am going to wait until spring To see what I need to do.I think it is a combo of my tires being shot,My burn outs not good enough, and track all together.Does the 10 position on the shocks make it squat harder and 3 in front make it raise Faster and come down slow? Thanks

98TAauto,So if your 1.5s 60' is at 1.6-1.7 makes you run 2 mph slower?
Thanks

The 10 in the rear makes the rear stiffer. It will hit the tire harder the stiffer it is. The 3 in the front is softer to allow it to transfer weight quicker. The car will leave the line and front tires will not be spining untill the tire touches the ground.

yes, the better i 60' the better i mph. spinning = shortening the track and not accelerating.

Yeah when you dead hook and dont bog you will see higher traps, but if you spin you will see a lower mph. I gain 3 mph from street tires to slicks......
