Default Would I need to get my car re-tuned if I changed rockers?

Hey guys, I have the Hotcam in my car, and I want something bigger but I don't want to go through another cam swap right now. I can get a sweet deal on some SLP 1.85 rockers, and I was wondering would I need a tune with them? I know I would have to change the springs again, and I read that 03+ LS6 springs are good to .570 lift? I think the Hotcam + 1.85 rockers would come in just under that. I already paid for a dyno tune once, and if I would have to do it again I would just hold off until I go for a bigger cam. Thanks guys!

what's the lift on a hotcam?

whatever lift it is, divide by 1.7
that gives you the lift the cam provides given 1:1 cam to rocker
then multiply by 1.85 ... that'll give you the lift you'll actually see

duration and lsa being equal and only a .15 increase in lift .. your current tune would prolly be ok (slightly worse idle characteristics) but you would need a retune to maximize it I'd think... prolly wouldn't be far off from your current tune if it's good though...

219/228 .525/.525 112 LSA. The 1.85 rockers would bring it right to .571/.571, but wouldnt letting more air in require more fuel to go with it?

if the LS6 springs are rated for 570 and you'll be near that... I wouldn't trust them... go w/something that can handle higher lifts

Letting more air in will require more fuel... however if tuned safely you should be fine ... in your case the MAF will detect more air being sucked in and will tell the PCM to give you more fuel ... even if you're speed density tuned ... the manifold pressure will increase due to increased air and you should be fine.... now if you were tuned for Kill mode ... that's a different story

I already figured the LS6 springs wouldnt work, I was gonna go with Comp 918's or those Patriot Gold springs. What do you mean by kill mode?

I just put in Comp 918's and Harland sharp 1.8's, seems to be running fine w/o a retune, have not re dynoed though.

What did the rockers do for your idle? How have they affected driveability? Thanks!!

Idle did not change nor did drivability, it feels like it gained some power but that just could be me justifying the cost, I need to get it re dynoed to check if my *** feeling is right.
