Default Will I have P/V clearance issues with 1.89 rockers and a 02 LS6 cam?

Stock 02 LS6 lift is .551 int. 541. exhaust I believe. Will I have clearance issues? These will be working in conjunction with PP LS6 stg. 2 heads with dual gold springs which can take .650. Thanks.

You overseas too predator? Ive been out here for about 7 months now, cant wait to get back and throw these heads on. The lift will be at .613 int./.608 exh. with the rockers, I posted the same question on zo6vette.com but no replies other than the method of applying clay to the pistons, bolting the heads down, cranking the motor by hand, and then checking the clay. I dont have access to the car right now, and I want to jump on this as soon as I get back. Can some one shed some light on this situation? I have an 02 LS6, Im not sure if the deck height of the heads are the same as LS1, with the increased compression to 10.5:1.

This board is great, Im sure someone here knows if these will fit. Thanks.

If you haven't bought the rockers yet, but want to benefit from extra lift on your Z06, check out the (accelerated lift) Crane/VHP rockers. They start at 1.89 then at around .250 lift they go to 1.82 and continue so through the lifts till they settle back down to 1.89. Much better valve geometry than the added stress of a constant 1.89.

Also why woul you want to swap 02 LS6 heads (243) for a set of PP LS6 "style" (really 6.0 heads.)
Just take those off and have a reputable porter do his magic on them for about 1300>1500 bucks and you have excellent heads. expl: MTI stage 2E.

I would never swap a set of LS6 heads for anything less than AFR's.

Good luck in Afghanistan and keep the faith man.

Thanks for the advice, yeah I think I may have the accelerated version from VHP unless they sell two different types of crane gold 1.89 rocker arms, I bought the arms with the pushrods etc. as a kit. I already purchased the PP LS6 stg. 2 heads, they bench flow 30 more cfm int. @ .550 than OE LS6 heads and yeah I know that bench flow #'s arent everything. But people are making power with them, its too bad there have been a few valve failures etc to ruin the majority of their success (3 in 450 sets of heads). Also the dual golds will hold the lift of the rockers, unlike the OE springs.

So will I get away with that much lift? Thanks for the kind words brother.
