Sorry I missed out last Sat fella's. The joy of being in the HVAC field.......*sigh*..........I hope to go tomorow (Thurs) and try to find me a F-250 after work. Trying to find a "nice" newer model to pull the car with and let me tell you, they are rare. Hopefully one day I can get a day off the hustle and bustle routine and enjoy a night of racing. Going Sat. to visit the Milkman in NC and get her dynotuned. That should be intresting. I'll post results and let you guy's know. You guy's be careful Thurs! Take care!

lol

I would like to see 320/325 out of her. That LS1 intake is gonna hold me back tho. Will upgrade soon to the LS6. I want to see if there is a difference between Jeff Creech's dyno #'s and the one in Belmount NC that I dyno'd at 2 years ago the way the car is right now. I just want the air/fuel to be perfect, and get rid of this annoying SES "knock retard sensor light" :judge: Keep me updated on the track tomorrow! Good luck!

No, No, No, No bud. He's going to do my tuning Sat. Ed Wright did my computer like 3 years ago but he didn't do any engine "tuning". He mostly turned off EGR, Air pump, set shift points, rev limiter ect. The car has never been "tuned". We'll see what Jeff can do Sat. Heard awesome things about him!

You didnt like the slicks huh?

slyws6
11-18-2004, 10:07 PM
Nope, they are too small for the truck. I used to have to turn my car to 5500rpm's to really turn them over good without them hooking up in order to do the burnout; on my truck it turns them over easily at 1500rpms doing the burnout. First time I launched I went sideways on the slicks and spun bad. Everytime after that they spun then hooked. I ran faster when I put my 20in rims and tires back on. I'm going to need a 28in+ slick for that thing :( more money.

What did you run, Sly? Pretty sweet when you can say you overpowered your slicks. :D

Who prevailed in the illegal speed contests that were conducted on the trip back to the mountains of Western North Carolina? ;)

Josh

slyws6
11-18-2004, 10:18 PM
On slicks my MPH was down by 1.5 to 2 and it was tough to get an 8.4 out of it. Went down on street tires, feathered it some off the line and ripped an 8.4 the first pass down.

-SlyI've ran a red one one time, had no problem at all, but i honestly think the guys truck was a little weak compared to even a stock lightning, really wasn't much of a race to really comment on, i think he was having problems.

Gotcha, that's cool. From my experience I know the SRt10 Rams put down between 400-430rwhp and 440-450rwtq on average and weigh a hair over 5000lb's. My L put down 400rwhp and 523rwtq and weighs about 4750lb's (4670 stock). So it should be a good race I would think.

I have a 99 Z28 6speed. I have not had much luck with it yet. The car ran a best of 8.58 @83.67 with a 2.01 60'. That was with a cat back on it, everything else was stock. Now I almost have my true duals done. My headers came in today. I also have a lid and filter now. Im gonna see what she will do maybe next Sunday at shadyside.

My car seems to have no power down low. I dont know why its easy to bog it down. Once the rpm's get past 4k it pulls hard.

11-23-2004, 06:37 PM
Cool, sounds great. Not bad times either for a stocker. Good luck at the track man. What did your bike run? I never got to watch anything run that day. That's about the only thing I hate about running my car. I never get to watch.

I only run a 7.20. I have taken the lowering link off of it and put my factory gearing back. I was just clowning that night. Them ricers like to see stunts so every now and then I will cut a fool. I once run a 7.44 at 94mph on the back wheel at about 10 oclock position. Bike was on the back tire as soon as it power wheelied in 1st and I just modulated the throttle keeping it at the pivot point. Since only my back tire tripped the beam I was probably going faster. Sometimes I will walk it all the way to the 1/4 mile mark at Greer and sit it down around 120 or so. I haves settled down alot on the past year and even more since I got my Z. Poor ol rice rocket hardly gets any love now, thats why I let her out Thursday. :)

BTW, I will bring it to Shadyside one day and run some 6.80's atleast maybe 70s at around 107. If only I didnt weigh 250lbs.
