Question Max displacement for LS1

Since I might get myself a Camaro SS with the LS1 I'm wondering what the largest desplacement I can get out of it is. I've seen 427 and I've even heard claims for 441. So whats the largest option?

455 H.O. GTO Hits The Street! Dyno #'s Inside!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MTI has just finished it's first GTO with a new Prototype engine. The displacement is 455 cubic inches using a Darton MID block. Final rear wheel #'s are 519 rwhp and 527 rwtq. Baseline stock numbers were 291 rwhp and 308 rwtq. That is a 227 rwhp increase! Needless to say, this car is amazing.

No, it was a Darton MID block. Its a sleeved LS1/ls6 block with specific darton inserts.

I read something about a 472 cid LS1, but I can't find the article right now. When I find it, I will try and post it.

If you would start out with a 427' C5R block could you take it to a 454' with only stroke or would it need stroke + bore ?

On those engines with 4.125 bore, does a large stroke cause the same problems with piston velocity and rod ratios as, say, on a stock bore w/4.125 stroke?
