Default BFH and rust

one of my tires was rubbing in one spot, so i took the hammer to it. the black stuff that the wheel well is coated with flaked off on that spot and left bare paint. is it going to rust and start rusting all underneath there? is all the black stuff going to start flaking off now also?

You can go get that bedliner stuff and put a coat of it on there. that might solve it.

so is it necessary? i mean, is it actually going to rust or start flaking off? or is something totally not even worth considering?

where do you get that bedliner stuff?

I BFH'd my wheel wells to fit my 17x11's. All that black undercoating came flaking off. I bought a can of rubberized undercoating from WalMart and re-sprayed it. I've had no problems since. I would think it is necessary to re-spray after BFH...it just makes sense to.

i bought some of that stuff. there was already a very little bit of surface rust forming there (it's been raining here), so i just sprayed over it. i'm assuming this stuff will keep that metal from rusting further, even though surface rust is no big deal anyway.

i'm also thinking about covering the whole inside of the wheel well with this stuff for two reasons: it's a lot blacker than the other stuff the factory uses, and it is supposedly a sound deadener.
