'68 camaro vs..... well, not me that's for dang sure
not a traditional kill story, but i figured the guys in here would enjoy it....
so at work on my toolbox a have a bunch of pics and stuff, one of which is my 98z at the track.....so my boss and his boss were walking through the shop, and i guess the big boss started asking about my camaro......so i walk by a few minutes later and they're standing there talking and the bosses boss asks me how fast it runs...so here's the conversation, slightly paraphrased:
me: oh, about 12.5 at over 112
him: (looking suprised)wow, that's pretty good
me: yeah, i haven't done too much to it, blah blah blah, bad weather the day we went blah blah blah, but i was very happy with how it ran....yadda yadda
him: yeah, that's fast for what you've done
me: thanks, yadda yadda, blah blah blah
so here's where my boss jumps in and tells me his boss has a fast car too
me:really? how fast do you run?
him: 7.9 at 173
me:........................oh............wow...... ............that is pretty fast......
so i mostly asked questions and listened from there on out
i guess it's a full metal '68 camaro with a juiced 600ci dart block....originally he built it for the first pump gas drags, but i don't think it ever made it down there, and now it's purely race fuel....race weight is over 3700 with driver....still "cruises" it occasionaly, but now he's building a 70 charger with a 440 to take over the summer cruise duties........and i suck

if it runs 7's sshark has nowhere near enough for him at all. and that time at that raceweight sounds like bs to me. i've got a buddy with a sonny leonard 632 with two foggers that runs heavy class at 3500lbs and he only runs 8.0's.

by the way 68camaro, did you go to alabama for the 10.5 outlaw series. amazing cars are now going 4.5X's 91/8th mile) in that damn series. Cars are really getting fast!

My buddies 65 vette runs 8's at 160 some mph. Its a Donnivan (miss spelled) aluminum block. 15:1 compression JE pistons. AFR heads, and I think its over 600 cubic inches. And 500 shot of NOS yes that rights 500 shot he runs 2 bottles. But 7's damn that is flyin. He is puttin 1300 just on the motor, plus the NOS 1800. No blower nothing he is big on NA horsepower he just uses the NOS when he think he has to. He wont take me for a ride he says bad things happen when you take someone for a ride. That Camaro though is insane.

A) completely wrong, no traction, huge raceweight, horrible driver, shitty suspension
B) it does not make anything near that.
i have personal friends running 10.5 outlaw doing this 1100 all motor and 1500 on gas, and still run a 7 second pass EASY!!!
