Lid, good headers (kooks, QTP, grotts), off road Y, cutout, and a stout drivetrain (12 bolt, clutch, driveshaft). Should eat up most of that couple grand, and have you pointed in the right direction.

Start with intake, because its easy to do yourself. Lid, MAF, Throttle body, intake (ls6 or lsx). Then move to exhaust (headers first (longtubes) and a new Y-pipe or go with true duals (popular choice). Then get down to the real stuff with heads amd a cam. Dont forget suspension and tires either!! If you cant put the power to the ground then you are wasting your money!

You could definitely do an exhaust plus, depending on what you want to start with, some intake/drivetrain stuff. Or suspension/drivetrain. Or a cam kit. Or . . .

Possibilities are endless. You should think about what you want to get out of your money. If you do exhaust, but not true duals, and dont want a cutout, GMMG has a group purchase on their chambered cat-back going on right now.
