Default 4L60E with TransGo Shift Kit acting up after 250 miles.

Well I've had a transgo 4L60E-HD-B shift kit in my trans for 250 miles now.
Been working fine.
Until tonight, all of a sudden it acted like it was either starting off in second and slipping into third, or just starting off weak and slipping in to the next gear. And it would not shift into fourth, when I let off the gas at speed the engine would go back down to idle.
Now this happened when I first put the kit in and had too much fluid in it, but I took it out, the fluids been to the top hole on the stick since then and it's been shifting perfect.
I did put some 89 octane in it and heard it pinging a little while cruising slow in fourth with the converter locked, right before this happened. I think I've read that the torque management might prevent lock up and fourth gear if it detects detonation for a certain amount of time.
Any ideas whats going on?

Something for you to try real quick. Reset the computer. If for some reason it went into limp mode it will start in second.

I had this happen at the strip one night. Started out in second and wouldn't shift. I reset it and haven't had a problem since.

How many miles were on the trans. before you installed it? Shift kits are pretty safe, but on high mile trannys they can burn clutch packs out, too.

Did you delete your torque management? I didn't.
I don't understand my problem because I drove it to work all week and it's been perfect, then last night this happened driving normal.
I went easy on it and let it shift like this about 5 times.
Then I got going easy down the road and waited for it to fully catch third and floored it, it dropped down spun the tires shifted great and the problem was gone What the hell would do that..
And today it's been fine.

hmm...I didn't have TM removed then. And mine stayed like that until I cleared the pcm. Wouldn't shift at all. Maybe add some octane boost or fill up with 93 or better, then try it. I never really had any TM issues so I don't know too much about it.

Might have just been a hiccup....wouldn't worry unless it comes back soon.

Do you have it revoved now? If so did it change the feel of the trans shifts?
Do you think the lower octane made it pick up the pinging and put it in limp mode?
See I was driving for a while (5 minutes) in 4th with the tc locked at about 1100 rpm, I noticed when I gave it a little gas, not enough to make it drop down to third it would ping a little.
Maybe that did it?

Sounds sort of like it could be a fluid problem. How did you handle the seal for the filter? Where's the fluid level at with it level and running?

Seal installer. As hot as the trans gets puts the fluid at the top hole on the stick...right at the top of the crosshatch.
Hasn't done it since that one night. Must have been a piece of garbage stuck somewhere that worked it's way out.
It's not my daily driver but I've been driving it every day since and that problem has not come back,,,,I did nothing to the fluid level, nothing to anything, the problem just went away.
