Default Would You...

If you were going to buy HP Tuner, would you buy it with the extra hookup for wideband, or just the basic program/hardware? I don't know if it is worth the extra $150 for wideband support. I think someone in my area has a wideband I could use, but the local dyno has one also.

i upgraded...but mainly because ive started to tune other peoples cars so the need to have an incar wideband is important...for the avg person doing the tune once to their car on a dyno with a wideband might not need it...keep in mind most people recommend you remove the wideband after its intended use as they tend to die quickly from what i hear.

Well it does more than just handle the wideband input. I would definitely get the EIO upgrade. Just think you have 4 inputs and 2 outputs you can control by any parameter that it scans. So if you want to trigger a relay @ 100 TPS you can for nitrous. Or it saves you from buying a window switch as it can be wired to disable your Nitrous system if it is within a certain RPM range. Or you can make it illuminate shift lights or whatever you want. It really gives you so many options it would be hard for me to say not to order it. Just a shift light for our cars is pretty expensive and with this you can add one for a few dollars in parts @ radioshack.

I am going to upgrade when I am ready to buy a wideband O2 system. I would wait. How far do you plan on going with upgrading the car?

Thanks guys for the input. I am either going to go with a bigger h/c package, or a turbo setup this summer...

I'd Definitely Go with the Wideband if I had your plans - if for nothing else...piece of mind.

I agree with that, definitely get the wideband. Especially with a turbo package. You should upgrade everything else before the turbo. Try to find a good turbo cam.
