Default Is it possible to have "quiet" true duals/X?

What muffler/bullet combos work? I want stealth. Is it possible?

I have heard some quiet duals but they where made with 2.5" tubing. I am pretty sure he had Dynomax bullets.

Stealth isn't going to happen. Quiet is a relative term when you use it in the same sentance as true duals

Stealth.. then stick with a quiet catback setup.

I run a SLP Dual/Dual catback, when I get to the track I open the cutout

Cats help - the long 18" Twisters also help and there is usually no drone at all with them.

4x9 Magnaflows are great too, but to get any kind of ground clearance, you'll need to 'bash' in the floor-boards underneath the rear seat cushions.

It's possible. The quietest systems I've built - that still make great power are Macs, or stock '01+ manifolds(with or without cats), with a Dr Gas X - and 18" Twisters. Almost stock quiet at idle on a bolt-on car. But still sounds salty when you want.

Thanks Guys!

Hey Lane,

I have Flowtech LT's... Is there room for dual 3"QTP's and cats before the X?
Do you have enough adjustability for different header configs? Does it fit with a spoohn tq arm?
PM me if this conflicts with sponsor rules.

Thanks!

I want a semi-quiet dual exhaust system. Hey Lane, who sells those Twister mufflers? Their website showing distributors is broke it seems.

Do you have a link?

My main deal is being able to be quiet under 2K. The cops around here are on a rampage.
Thanks!

There's room for the 'baby' Jet Hot cats(the ones they use on their catted Y), which we've found to work and perform very well.

Putting cutouts in front of the X will not give you any more power. We had a customer do that and dyno(heads, cam, nitrous car) - and he made about the same rwhp numbers, but lost midrange hp and 15-20 rwtq! His system is even reduced to 2.5" at the mufflers - and his duals go out the back under the axle where there's two MORE 2.5" Magnaflow mufflers... The comparison loss would be even greater IMO if his system was 3" all the way to the axle. The X crossover gives you power over open headers - especially the Dr. Gas! proven and patented X. We've seen it many times. I tested it on my bolt on car at the track. Ran 11.45 through the duals and mufflers and went 11.46 through open headers(with extensions).

Any benefit in running the cutouts after the X? I've been thinking about doing that lately.

Depends on the muffler(s) you're using. If the muffler(s) are straight through design, then the only thing you'll gain is loudness.

x-pipe+spintech or borla xr-1 or magnaflow or edelbrock should keep it tame under 2000.
