LH6 oil pump

LH6 oil pump
I have read a few magazine articles stating that the oil pump in the new displacement on demand 5.3's (the LH6) should be capable of flowing more. I've also read something like an increase of oil displacement per revolution from .96 cubic inches to 1.26 cubic inches...which is a healthy gain in my book.
The question I have. Is the previous Vortec pump that apparently only flowed .96 cubic inches per revolution similar to the LS1 and LS6 pumps in volume...will the LH6 pump prove to be worth it? I'm in the middle of an LS1 build right now, and out of principle I'm replacing the oil pump anyways. I'm just curious if anybody knows if the LH6 pump is indeed going to flow more than the LS6 pumps every vendor sells.
Far as I can see, the 4.8, 5.3, both 6.0's, LS1 and LS6 all use pump part number 12563964...so I assume this means that the LH6 should theoretically be a better pump than anything previously available?
