I have heard that BMW wheels will fit on a 4th gen fbody because the 5X120mm(which is 4.72440945")is very similar to 5X4.75". Anybody running BMW wheels on their car?

Ive seen a BMW Z3 at the track with some salad shooters on it so yea they will fit. I dont know anyone running them though.

There really aren't any BMW wheels that would look good on an F-body except for some of the 5 series wheels.

Yes, the 5 series BMW wheels will fit. I beleive the perf. package runs 18X9.5 and 18X8.

"Im posting this as an advice to all. Recently a friend of mine had a terrible accident when a front wheel came off from his S-10 pickup.(wich I believe are 5x120.65 like our f-bodies). The wheels were Borbet (dont know exactly what model), but they were originally for a BMW (5x120). He bought them cheap from a guy who had a bimmer and wanted to upgrade his wheels. Almost since the day he got them they (the wheels) were constantly coming loose, specially in the front. He had to tighten them with an impact air gun. Thank God he got from the wreck intact but his nice S-10 didnt. (Todd you were right...!)

Just be careful with wheels that dont are specifically for you car. I was just about to get some nice HP Racing wheels when this happen, now Im backing off. Sometimes I ride with my kid in the back and thats enough to make me think twice."

Tony "Nine Ball" runs 5X120mm wheels on his 02 with no problem so its not something im worried about but unfortunatly the BMW wheels I like the backspacing just wont work.

I run the same rims that Tony "Nine Ball" runs and I have no issues. I used hub centering rings and the proper lugs and have not had a single issue. I am a little nuts when it comes to bolting on rims though with all my cars. I hand tighten all lugs first in a star pattern of course. Then I torque them to 50 ft/lbs, 70 ft/lbs ect up to 100 ft/lbs to make certain I am getting a true uniform torque on all lugs.

I check my lugs with a torque wrench everytime I clean the rims which is once a week and have never had a loose lug. I think that if you checked all of the factory rims there would be more of a variabilty in bolt patterns than the 0.65 mm difference from a 5x120 to a 5x120.65 pattern.

The center hole for the BMW wheels is bigger than our hubs, so they will never truly fit properly. If you drive, there will be play, no matter how tight you think the lug nuts might be. I don't advise the use of them. I didn't realize how much different the holes were until my wheel balancer showed me. I thought my vibrations were just from the wheels not being balanced, but boy was I wrong. Even if you get them perfectly centered, there is still the chance of them slipping and breaking a stud off, at a minimum. I would heed the advice of those with experience. You don't want to be upside down in a ditch somewhere because you went with the wrong wheel.

EDIT: If you use the hub rings, you probably won't have any issues, but if you like to drive hard often, don't chance it.

I have seen the Hamann 5 spoke wheels on a pewter Ram air before also...There are some very nice aftermarket wheels for the Beemahs but they are expensive.

Run 'em, don't worry about all those saying your wheels will fall off. I see wheels fall off all the time on cars with stock wheels. Properly installed and torqued you will not have a problem. Personally I really like these- EBAY

hmmm, I did the complete long haul this year on the Hotrod Power Tour. My wheels didn't fall off, and they don't vibrate. The HP racing ones I have are lug centered, not hub centered. They still have a conical lug seat. We are talking 0.03" here, across a diameter of 4.75 inches. So, basically each lug is about 0.015" off. I've seen lug studs bent or installed more crooked than that. You can't even "see" 0.015 inches.
