If you hook and your car is in mechanically good condition you should be able to take it. If you lose traction, especially on the launch, if the SRT-4 has a good driver, you will probably lose. Traction is everything.

My friend HAD a SRT-4. When I raced him in my 94Z with nothing but a CAI I killed him through 1st and 2nd but he slowly moved by me in 3rd and 4th. Those cars seem to make up all their time up high. One of my other firends has an EVO that goes 12.8. I had no chance against that thing because of the dam AWD.
Although the quality of those cars seems to be a another story. My firend with the SRT-4 went through 2 transmisions, 2 CV joints, and 1 trans mount. The fastest he ever went completely stock was 13.8. Since then he got so sick of the car breaking and got a used 2000 Camaro SS with SLP longtubes, loudmouth, weiland intake and pulleys.
A step up in my book.

Darn our RWD cars and our poor traction
I've seen a handfull of SRT-4s at the track. The best I've seen them run stock is right around the 14.2ish range. Then again one of my friend's buddy owns a Evo 8 with the boost turned up to the moon. He's a good shifter and launched it quite high and only netted a 14.2 (late cold night too.) I've come to the conlcusion that many cars don't like our Strip. WRXs running a low 16 (this kid doesn't know how to launch a turbo car) , a new lightining running a 14.2, and a 04 GTO A4 running 14.50s.

I wouldn't sweat it...your car has alot more potential than domestic rice...I wouldn't care if that thing did 11s all day long....a neon is a neon is a neon...most of the people that own them refuse to call it what it truly is...its just a neon with a turbo....I say keep racing em...with the "high quality" parts they have in that it'll be dead or broken down on the side of the road in a year...be proud of you camaro heretige...not too much heretige in a neon...other than of course the plymouth breeze which was discontinued...I say if they wanna run boost against boost..I know a bunch of guys that would be up for the challenge...

I say keep racing em...with the "high quality" parts they have in that it'll be dead or broken down on the side of the road in a year
and i still loved that car!

ricer arguement?....I don't think so...I own a 02 ss with some mods and I can hold my own thankyou...I was just giving him a pat on the back since he got beat by a modern pos...and when I said that they'll be dead in a year...I was just stating a fact...not everyone wants a car that falls apart around them despite the fact that its fast...thats not a ricer argument telling him to race em till they blow...I raced a stang the other day and it was funny as hell when he blew his motor...like traction...keeping your car in one piece is apart of the game too.
