Wont work the 98 are a different animal. The harnesss are different and a few other things. 99+ is swappable but 98 stays with the 98

Actually it can be done, but it requires removing the wires from the harness and repinning the connectors. Its a lot of work, but if you have the 98 PCM pin outs and the 02's, it can be done. There are a few other things you will have to change, such as coolant temp sensors and etc.

you will also have evap problems, gas gauge problems, and a couple of other headaches

I have a 99 computer i was going to reqire internally to work on my 98 car... too much work.

i just went through this way to much work just pony up the cash for new harnes and pcm. I did and so much happier.

but *** stated above it can be done.

not worth the trouble to go through all of that

the 1998 computer is not "that bad" its good enough for 99% of owners.
