Default Impressions of the FAST LSX/FAST 90MM TB!!!!

As u guys know I just swithed from the LS6/PTB to the FAST LSX/90...
I did the mods to the throttle body (PEEN MOD AND THE SCREW MOD)

Ported the intake to match my heads and bolted everything up.
Retuned it and went to the the track in almost the same air I had 3 weeks ago.(within 50 ft)

Results
LSX/90 TB netted me a solid .16 in ET
LSX/90 TB netted me a solid 2.1 in MPH

U need to tune it as it wants more fuel (on my car)down low but it seemed pretty good up top (12.7 A/F).

Anyone wanting to do these mods--------->DO IT
Just do the tweeks to the TB and take your time installing the intake.

COMP U MAKE A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!

i loved the one i used for the shootout, and best thing was it that it did require any tuning to run perfect.

Another happy LSX 90mm intake user The 90mm setup really kicks *** on a H/C 346 and it makes good power down low too.

This is a very long thread, but it should answer most of your questions about the problems folks are having and how to do the above mentioned mods:

That's just what I needed. Thank you. Looks to me like I should reconsider. Seems a lot of people are having issues with the FAST products.

That is why he posted this thread. It is to show that if you take the time to do these 2 simple things, you shouldn't have a problem. I agree that it is something that should be done in the first place, but it saved me $100 over a TPIS TB and I get to keep my stocker, which is worth $50-$75. I'll do these 2 rather simple mods to save that much money and keep my stock breather hooked up.

Yeah, I will probably still use the FAST stuff. It just ticks me off that you pay so much and then have to mess with it. My BBK 85mm just bolted right up and worked perfect.

Thanks again.

I've seen the new 90,it does have the shaft mod
If u look at it the best way to tell is if the shaft is flat on one side, thats the new and improved one but they still didnt do the peen mod.

U still need to do that too.

Plus on the TPIS I still had the throttle hang up once in a while after I jumped on it hard, it would hang up around 2000 rpm's so I had to ad a extra carb. style throttle spring to fix the problem.

Amazing... all expensive junk. LOL The old addage "you get what you pay for" doesn't apply to our TBs! LOL

Thanks for the info.

Do you guys think a LSX78 would be just as good improvement on my stock LS1 motor say switching from a LS6 intake and adding a 80mm throttle body any thuoghts would be helpful

I've heard that on a stocker, the LS6 and BBK 85mm is more than enough. The motor doesn't demand more than that. That's what I've been running up until this point and I've been very pleased.

The down side to this is now I have to buy another setup since I want to go bigger and badder. I kinda wish I had just bought the FAST stuff from the beginning and saved the money.

If you're not planning on going much beyond the stock internals, LS6 and BBK is a good combo.

BTW, my BBK never had any of the problems the FAST tb is having with sticking etc. It worked flawlessly from install to present day.

well...i would of thought the fast lsx w/90mm would be too much for a 346. i have a 348ci with heads and cam...looks like i'll be buying the fast intake and 90mm th-body too. thanks for this post.
