it can take : the f-body, cobra for sure.... not to sure on the z06.... esp if the c6 is an auto.

They run low 13's stock around here.

If your 15.0 stock Subaru Forrester out runs one stock, obviously you are not stock. And I'm preeeety sure your top speed is over 60 mph slower. Go ahead and run one from a 70mph roll.

It's not like a Corvette auto with 50/50 weight bias is hard to launch.

The list of low 13 or quicker stock car is actually a fairly short list.

i dont see it beating a z06 but i think it can probably take a cobra, and definetly take a stock f-body

Better question would be what CANT it beat? (stock for stock) They are good for mid 12's in good air.

The best I have seen from an A4 c6 is a low low 13.

That isn't going to cut against a well driven 03 cobra. I went 12.6 @ 113 and it was dead stock right down to the filter and it only had 800 miles on it. I only made three passes with it in stock trim but I feel that I could have worked it down into the 12.40's with some more seat time.

Im not bashing the Vette because I have sold the Cobra to get a Vette. Im just saying that I dont think the a4 vette is faster than the Cobra.

A C6 is definitely faster than low 13's, unless a complete newbie is driving?

out of this list id say everything except the z06 and an exceptionally well driven 03 cobra. unless the stock c6 auto cuts power down like the gto's does then it might have trouble with a mustang gt :eyes:

:werd: and that c6 may run 13's if it is at the top of mount everest :eyes: that is what the c5 does now....and the c6 has a rated 50+ more hp

no the c6 drive si perfect at the light like 501 or 502 and its a factory freak car anyways

i saw a dyno comparison of a c6 vs a zo6 and the c6 had 5 more hp and 7 lb/ft of torque! i think the c6 will stay right with a zo6 if not pass it. give each car the same driver and see what happens...

I don't think you know how fast a turbo Forrester is. 0-60 is mid 5 second, and they snap off mid-high 13s in the 1/4 mile. Stock. Like I said, if they underestimate it and pause for a fraction of a second, I will already be gone. Nothing says "traction" like all-wheel drive.

If anyone is running low 13's in a C6, regardless of the transmission, something is wrong with the track, the driver, or (hopefully not the case) the car. Wait, what is the DA where they were running 13's? I just thought about that....

I think he is trying to refer to the c5 zo6 as lighter than the c6, so even though the c6 may have more power it will be slower cause it weighs more. However the c6 is comparable in weight to the zo6, might weigh a little more. My guess is the c6 would win even if the power to weight ratio is the same, the extra torque down low will get it into the powerband quicker.

well i know that the c6 weighs a lil more, my main question is does anybody know the actual weight of the z06 and the c6?!?

Curb weight of the 02 zo6 is 3118 from what i found, the 04 zo6's are actually about 10lbs lighter due to the fact that they went to a carbon fiber hood. The c6 coupe weighs 3179, convertible weighs 3199.

What does p/u mean? Because unless its poorly driven or something there is no way a stock C6 will take a stock new SRT-10 Viper. That would be drivers loss. The Cobra is the same way. I believe a stock C6 can take them, but don't know for sure. The quarter mile is similar between the two. A older Z06, pre the new badass Z06. I believe would be drivers as well, but my bets on the old Z06.


Question is, what can't the new Z06 beat?

The Z06 in my sig weighed in at 3060 with 1/4 tank of gas. There are video's of C6's losing to Z06's on numerous vette sites. I have yet to see any C6's beat any Z06's. I have also not heard of any C6's running in the 11's stock like the Z06 has.

ok you all concentrating way to much on peak power, have you guys seen engine dynoes of the ls2 and the ls6 next to each other the ls2 has like crazy more power under the curve. You cant compare a stick z06 to an auto c6 it has to be stick with stick, auto to auto, then it would be a pretty close race that would go to the better driver.

Ok ok, well its true. I lost. But it wasnt what I expected! My truck is DIGGING this cold weather. caught up to him on 51n. Took forever for him to get the idea that a truck wanted to race him. We were goin around 85 so I had to persuede him down to 70 so I could get a good 2nd gear jump. He downshifted as well (he had exhaust) quite loud. He allowed me to take the jump but he had a quick reaction to it. Held him at my side to just a touch over 100, maybe 105...then by 130 he had 2-3 cars on me. We got off, bs'd...and he took me for a ride. Very nice car. Clean power throughout...much more refined than a c5. Very comfortable. Only more comfortable domestic seat is in the 05 ls2 GTO. You gotta sit in those! Said he pulled off a 12.80 so far in it shifting kinda easy. Did a few hot laps around the block then back to my truck. He made me follow him to a lil spot and we lined up for a dig. Luckily I hooked...but so did he. shit. I was at the back of his door at 60 (which impressed me), and by 110 he had me by 3 cars. He was very impressed as was I.

PS: dont mind the file name...he thought it was the new z06 but i pointed out to him that it wasnt...also the vette gets a nasty jump because on 17psi the GT35r isnt efficent and it lags like a mother!

A Z06 outruns the C6,m but not by much.
