We have several sets of Stage 2.5 5.3L Precision Race Components cylinder heads that should be ready next week :) :) Sorry for the long delay getting the cylinder heads ready, but perfection takes time. :D These cylinder heads are based off of new GM 5.3L cores. By using actual GM cores, you don't have to worry with spark plug hole or valvetrain issues common with cylinder heads built off of GM factory reject cores.

These cylinder heads feature the following:

*MANLEY 2.04" Intake Valves
*MANLEY 1.585" Exhaust Valves
*PRC Gold Double Spring Kit Featuring GM Locks!
*Complete CNC Work, Fully Assembled & Decked!!
*Complete NEW GM CORES!

All of the PRC cylinder heads also use factory GM valve guides, so you will not have any issues with oversized guides consuming oil like some other heads on the market. The last car we installed these cylinder heads on was a '98 Z28 automatic. It was running the MS3 camshaft, PRC cylinder heads, FAST 90mm intake and throttle body, TCI 5000 stall torque converter, PaceSetter long tube headers, and TSP true duals. It dynoed 445 RWHP with an UNLOCKED torque converter! :eek2:

The cylinder heads are 100% quality, and they are heads that you will be able to bolt on and not worry about. The cylinder heads will sell for $1,529.00 outright!

Jason, did the example engine in your post have to fly cut his pistons for that particular cam?

The MS3 does require cutting pistons for the big valves :) :)

Does it require flycutting with say your torquer cam? :devil:

I'm sure they'll pipe up, but I don't think that it does...and that is a killer price on some powerfull equipment...wish I had the patience to wait for these when I bought my heads...

I think they are at PRI with many of the other vendors all weekend. I know Brian and prolly Jon are still at the shop working this week...Might give them a call Monday morning.

What is the flow on these heads?

Yes PRI is this weekend they will be back on monday. I would say any good ported head is as good or better than the AFR's stock. They are a good casting but require alot of work to beat a good ported LS1 head.

I called a couple of weeks ago, and they said all the ones coming in were spoken for and they were taking names for the next run. I was going to get a set, but didn't want to wait (these have been "coming soon" for a long time), so I got some AFR 205s.

Why are these PRC heads (one pair I'm guessing is mine) sitting at RACETECH, do they get CNC'd there, hand finished there, assembled there????? I have heard that a certain x-sponsor's move to the frozen north impacted the shipping of these particular heads...... that's another stop in the process. Once again I don't want anyone to reveal any proprietary stuff here so if I'm getting too nosey just say it's priviledged info..... Once again if I didn't have a pair comin' I could give a flip! (seems like spring is JUST AROUND THE CORNER!)

PRC is a stand alone company,owned by PRC.I own Racetech,I am a dealer for PRC products.I have 10 sets of PRC heads at my shop.None of these heads have anything to do with any sponsors moving up to the frozen north.The CNC work is not performed @ Racetech,I am looking over the finishing process of the heads.

Side question. The 5.3 heads are better than the ls1/ls6 heads b/c they have a higher cr? they only useable for stock bore? What other advantage do they have? Thought i'd ask.

They're generally cheaper too.

Good, glad to hear that you guys like them. EvilLS1, I ended up ordering a cam similar to yours (with a little help from gomer :thumb: ), the FMS f13, only on a 114+4. Can't wait to see your guys dyno and track #'s. My heads still haven't shipped so it will probably be march before I get the car up and running again.

Do these heads with tsp 233/239 require flycutting?

They don't require cutting with the 233/239 camshaft :) :)
