I cant maintain fuel pressure
Over the last several months my car has been sitting and idling for short periods of time. I went to get it tuned and I am not maintaining fuel pressure to a dangerous level above idle. We checked all the wiring, injectors and fuel lines to my Aeromotive 420lph pump.
I have noticed extra pressure in my fuel tank when I open it to refuel. As a solution we drilled a very small hole in the gas cap, it seems to have helped the issue.
The fuel pump turns on and makes a slightly funny noise, although it is a naturally loud pump. Does this sound like a clogged or bad pump to you and should I just replace it and go from there?
Thanks
Dave

The extra pressure is almost certainly fuel heating. The tank
is supposed to be sealed (for evaporative emissions) and
faulting the EVAP may make things a little funny - like on my
car the tank pressure sensor being bad, kept the crank
relearn from running.
When you checked the wiring, did you check the voltage
across the pump at higher loads? Might be worth putting
pigtails from as close to the pump as you can get, into the
cabin so you can check pump power as you get on it.
What do you have for a regulator? Boost referenced? Have
you verified that / whether rail pressure is tracking MAP?
The pump can work as hard as it wants but if the regulator
is going to **** it all away... ???
