Default place for oil temp sender???

i've heard that there is a port above the oil filter for an oil temp sensor and/or oil cooler. supposedly it was designed for something in the vette and is unused in the f-body.

1) is this true?

2) if so, does the port by any chance fit the autometer sender for an oil temperature gauge???

It needs to be drilled. Really only one way to find out. Try it

Yes..
There is a little place to tap right above the oil filter. Took five mins to pull it out. I drilled it out and tapped it. Just make sure that you use a teflon sealant. I used teflon tape.

Works like a charm.
