Default Unfortunate news...

Well, i just got news that my insurance company has re-evaluated my driving record and they don't seem to like it very much...so in turn they upped my premiums sky high and i wont be able to afford the Ls1 TA I have been saving for Now i have about $8K sitting around to buy a car...what should i do with it??? my friends have been telling me to buy a fox body and beef it up or buy a 67 firebird and swap an ls1 into it...but i dunno. what can i do??? i hate the fact that i'm so in love with horsepower, lol. any ideas???

You're in a bad spot here, basically any "sporty" car is gonna cost you with a not-so-good driving record. Maybe you should look into a sport truck , they might go easier on you and you could mod it.

You might consider going to a new insurance company.

You can get a ls1 rx-7 for around 10,000 turnkey. A stock motor will run 11.8-9s in an rx-7 http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/

the insurance on my now "dad driven" dakota r/t was more expensive than the insurance on my Z. and it is surely the slowest of all the sport trucks.

put liability on the LS1...if ur postive u won't wreck it ...

or id try another insurance company. Or get really high deductables just call your insurance and talk it out with them..they'll work something out.

take a defensive driving course etc etc.

a good friend of mine is doing that with his WS6 right now. about $1000 a month worth of insurance/carpayment. if you dont think youcan afford it or it might be tight, dont do it.

well, i was actually on my dads policy with State Farm. They are asking $700 a month for full coverage...and i have to have full coverage to be making payments on a car, or so i've been told. Everyone is telling me to check out different companies so i think i will before i make any decisions. but, i think if i can't afford it, i'll probably just go and pay cash for an LT1 car and have liabilty only

theyve been nothing but good to me, and full coverage i pay 150 something a month. and thats with one ticket, that should be dropping off soon. and they went all out in defense of my dad when he was maliciously being sued over an accident that had happened two years earlier.
