Question Hooker LTs, no cats...Borla XR1? Help me pick a muffler!

Just like the title says... I have a H/C/N setup with Hooker LTs, no cats, and a DynoMax bullet where the SLP LM "resonator" was. It sounds great at WOT and idle, but everywhere else doesn't do it for me... Any ideas?

I say give the Moroso Spiral Flow a shot. Similar to a Flo Pro Twister but easier to get ahold of. 46 bucks and sounds like a beast!

Both Summit and Jegs carry them. They're in the muffler section under the brand name "Moroso"! Good luck buddy

Hmmm. I have both the Summit and Jeg's catalogs right here...no "Spiral Flow" or "Moroso". There is a nice looking Dynatech muffler that seems to be a XR-1 clone for $40 less...anybody use one? Thanks for the help! Ben

That's a 15 inch, correct? Would the 16 inch be better? Thanks for all the help!

That is a good deal! Will the XR-1 quiet my ride down noticeably over the 12-inch DynoMax bullet, and more importantly, cut down the rasp? Thanks for all your guys help and I will prolly get the XR-1 anyway. Ben

Any other opinions before I pull the trigger on the XR-1? Thanks!

The XR-1 will make a noticeable difference in loudness and tone over the 12 inch bullet. The XR-1 will be quieter and a bit deeper in tone since it has quite a bit more packing in it compared to the bullet. They both cut down on the rasp quite a bit, but the XR-1 should cut it down a bit better.

Actually, the DynoMax bullet I currently have does squat for rasp. That's the main reason it's going in the garbage. I'm hoping the XR-1 will be enough...I'll sacrifice a couple HP for a decent sound. Thanks Tim!

With the loudmouth, the XR-1 will be much better.
Unfortunately, with just the bullet and no real muffler (like the loudmouth setup), you still get quite a bit of rasp. The XR-1 sounds a ton better in the LM setup then a bullet, and there should be no noticeable HP loss from switching mufflers. Both of them are straight through.
