Default Sleeper cams

I was wondering who all is using them and what kind of numbers your seeing with stock heads. Whats a good converter to go with on one. Also is tunning needed and what kind of springs are good to go with and how long before i will need to change them.

LS6 Cam is a sleeper
MT1 makes good sleeper Cams (stealth ones)
Thunder Racing has their old man cam

LS6 will get you at most 370 as will the old man..you might see like 10 more with the MT1 and they have better low end

Those are some. Most sleeper cams are sleeper because of their LSA is 114+

You prob wont need tuning if you get the LS6 or the old man other than getting your rev limiter raised since the LS6 makes peek power at about 6500. If memory serves, so does the old man.

edit: this is a very common thread, I believe you will get all the info you need in a search

3500 might be a little much. I have never driven an auto with a stall that high so take my opinion on that matter with a grain of salt

Does anyone know the answer to his other question about how long the valve springs would last? I would also like to know that answer.

The headers will certainly bring out some cam noise, so it won't sound so stock anymore... but you'll get one hellova power difference since you've already got the cam in there

TR220-114 is a decent sleeper cam. See my sig for dyno numbers.

It idles pretty much like stock. If you are familiar with LS1/LS6 engines you will know it is not stock. To the untrained, it is undetectable. The cam doesn't lope.

The ultimate sleeper cam is the LPE GT2-3.
