Newbie Questions Hey all, I have a few questions. I just installed a 2001 6.0L and 4L80E tranny in my 1999 silverado. I have the computers from both trucks. My problem is that when I use the 2001 computer it wont even start. but when i use my 1999 it will. Here is what I have done to the motor. MTI C2 cam, Stage 2E heads, 2800 stall, and HP tuners. With HP tuners can a change my tranny from the 4l60E to the 4l80e or do i have to have it flashed from GM. When I use the 2001 computer i get a theft code. and when I use the 1999 comp. it bairly works. I have so many questions i don't even know where to start.

ok. you have to remove the vats in each computer first, then it will let the other pcm work just plug it in, turn on the key, do a read from the pcm, then delete vats, then reflash the pcm and then you are set. as for the program needed to change to a different tranny, email me at jessebubb@yahoo.com ill set you up.. jes
