Default Raced a 02 z 28. Results!

I was driving to go meet up with some buddies and I am cruising down Georgia Avenue. I pull up next to a z28 with borla exahust. I knew right away he has some stuff done so I was going to try and get him to play. Pull up next to him give him a little rev. He rolls down his window and says as soon as we get to a red light. I smile and nod.

We were the first two cars and no traffic in front of us. Pull up next to the light he starts inching forward. Light turns green I feather it a little bit cause it was about 40 degrees out catch traction and hammer it. Hit second gear pulled a car, hit third another car, hit 4th look back coming up on about 120 he is around 4 or 5 cars back. I just started to laugh and put the car in neutral and started to coast. He pulls up next to me and we start talking. He has very minor mods and complimented me on the way my car sounded. I said thanks and told him I probably bought my car cheaper than he bought his. He laughed and said dont tell me these things and rolled up his window and drove off.

your car runs strong for those mods.
And the cheaper statement ...is your car used?

I wasnt even looking for a vette to be honest. I was looking at 01 cobras. I like all motor and they have great potential and were cheap. My buddy was selling the vette cause he has a 04 cobra with 510 rwhp and he is a ford fanatic. Carmax offered him $21,000 he was going to go sell it to them. I told him I will give him a check for $17,500 and hand him $5,000 in cash. It was in my garage the next day.

With the miles it had and being just about stock and hardly driven I knew It was a good deal. It had 22k miles on it. He owned it for over a year and when he bought it, it had less than 17k miles. It never saw rain. Underneath almost zero rust.

at first glance yes. Then the small details kick in and they realize. I mean I can do a replica but thats not cool on a couple levels esp. to people who actually have one. I will just leave it and do some rims and other things and let it be the original hard top.

Good kill.

Many people don't know the difference between FRC and Z06. Hell, many people don't know anything about Z06, they think vette is a vette.

Great deal, I agree about carmax, they are crooks for sure. Oh well, nice win.
