Gears & Axles - Will 10 bolt Hold?

I have a M6 Z28, with basic bolt ons, nittos,spec 3 clutch and I plan on installing cam and 100shot of nitrous in the near future but i want to see what your opinions are on the rearend first?
Will a 10 bolt with moser axles, moser 4.10 gears,TA rearend girdle hold the horsepower, estimate 390rwhp, plus spray.
Or would it be a waste of time with the M6, if so what are your recommendations on rearend combo.

10 bolt will last for a while in rolling start type races, but you will break it at the strip. Better buy a 9 inch Ford.

start saving for a 12 bolt is my advice.

If you are at the point where you even have to ask if the 10 bolt will hold, then it's probably a good idea to invest in a 12 bolt or 9 inch.

i made 496rwhp and had a stock 10 bolt went 12.0 na and sprayed after 60' and went low 11's on 315/35/17 nitto 555

mine was a auto 4l60e with a 3200 vig and a shift kit

When I bought 4.10s for my T/A ,the guy at LS1 SPEED asked me if I was going to race the car.He suggested that if I was planning to spend alot of time at the track(even with new axles and a TA cover)the stock 10 bolt would self destruct.Remember this is the same rear end as an S-10 truck.It is a shame that GM was so cheap.At least the Mustangs got an 8.8!I would recommend either the 12 bolt or a 9inch.They are alot heavier in weight but at least that is where the F-bodies need it to hook good. :)

waste of time fixing the 10-bolt it should break the first time you launch good on those nittos and that spec 3

Using sticky tires or slicks, it will live for awhile if you keep the launches 4,000 rpm's and lower, if you upgrade the axles, and do the girdle cover and studbolt kit thing. Unless it's a Auburn. Drag race applications are weakest w/the Auburn carrier....My opinion only. 4.10's really wake these M6 F-bodies up, and w/that 6th gear, fuel economy doesn't suffer too badly either. WJ

The first time you hook good at the the track that 10 bolt will go boom.4.10 gears cost 600 bucks installed,400 if you install the yourself.That could be money toward a 12 bolt or 9 inch.
