Manual Transmission - slave is out and on my desk, which one is it? update or no?

how do i tell if it's updated or not??

there doesnt seem to be a part number on it, only some wierd markings and the number 13. there is also what looks like a production date marking but im not sure. its 2 circles, one inside the other, between the circles is a bunch of dots, and in the center is the number 01. maby it is a 01 slave? maby not? i thought i remember seeing a rubber sleeve over the spring on the new slave when we bought it.

my mom picked it up from a clutch shop, so i dont know if its updated or not.

is there any visual difference between the two??

Easiest way to tell is by checking the size of the bleed valve. If it is 7/16", you have the updated slave. If it is 8mm, then you have the old version.

thats just the kind of info i was looking for!! well i had been using an 11mm to bleed the sucker so i guess it's a 7/16" bleed valve.

can anyone else confirm this? i want to make DAMN sure i dont put an old style one back in, i've got enough problems and dont need that one!

What NOBR8KSS said is correct.
But depending on how much abuse you put on it , You might should go ahead and replace it.

it's only been in there for about 12k miles

My '01 slave has the part # printed on the back side it, opposite side the T/O bearing is located. Can you make out any #'s all?
