Stock catback???
Ok right now i have a Borla catback with SLP headers and ORY and it is really driving me nuts. It's really to loud and it's to raspy. So i have decided to take the stock ws6 catback and through it on. What i am wondering is what kind of a power drop could i see, if any, and also how you guys think it would sound without the cats.
TIA

My friend is running Hooker Headers with an Off-Road Y-Pipe into the stock catback and it's extremely quiet. He has dual cutouts too and he runs those open all the time. He can't stand how quiet it is capped up.

I would either add a bullet muffler to what you have or get a y-pipe with cats.
It may still be noisy with you stock catback. The main problem you have created was caused buy the elimination of the cats.
Good luck!

Yeah... As Maniac said, I am running the stock exhaust with Hooker headrs and dual cutouts. I just leave em open all the time because if I cap them up, it gets pretty quiet. And to be honest, it doesn't sounds bad at all when I do cap them up. I was pretty suprised

Your problem is borla. Take it off, sell it for 400, buy a hooker catback for 300, and your problems are over. No more annoying drone, you can barely hear the thing inside the car and sounds great outside with no rasp.

Borla is a good quality catback with all stainless construction, but I agree with you; LTs with ORY will make it sound like ****. I had the same type of setup and after a few SEARCHES I decided to install a BORLA XR-1 # 40085 in the I-Pipe and it definetely solved my RASP problems. Seriously, consider this option. You've got a good catback that just wasn't built considering the addition of LTs and ORY in mind. If you decide to try this Borla bullet-type muffler your car's driveshaft tunnel might have to be hammered in a bit to allow it to fit, but no one will notice.

I had the stock CB on with my Mac's and ORY and the rasp at 2200 was worse than it is now with my magnaflow (either that or it is just so much louder at other speeds I don't notice as much) I would say put a bullet muffler on or something other than the stocker. Honestly at 2200 it sounded like one of those trucks with glasspacks popping and stuff.

I've got the slp catback with duel outlet w/quad tips. It's loud and thought about swapping the muffler for one off an 8.1 liter chevy truck or suburban. Seems like it would flow plenty and be quiet.
