Hey everyone,

I need help with this one. I installed a new spec 3 clutch along with a new steel sfi approved flywheel & new slave. After install I took it for a ride & took off easy to help the clutch break in. But turned it up to 6 grand & noticed at the high rpm it felt down on power & vibrations i never rememberd. It was all stock before I made the change & now if I bring the idle to 1000 rpm the car vibrates in a way that does not seem right, as soon as it goes to 1100 its smooth & seems smooth till high rpm free revs. Also, I recieved a code for knock sensor, 2 codes, one said bank 2. I then hooked hp tuner to it & did a scan & saw at 5800 KR went to 4 which before I never got KR at all.

Im thinking the flywheel might be out of balance or the clutch?? All the parts were new, although I did cryogenic the flywheel to help its heat properties. That should not take it out of balance. I even put the dowels from the old flywheel to the new one. So I know the clutch lined up correctly.

Any suggestions are much appreciated please.

Thanks

Scott

Did you match balance the new pressure plate and flywheel to the old one? I was told that you always need to match balance a new clutch setup (I've personally never installed one). The one exeption is Exedy, which I run. They come with exceptionally close tolerances. Good luck! Make sure it's not your exhaust vibrating against your g-load brace. I got a vibration there after my Exedy install?????

Hope this helps

When did you take it up to 6k? You should put at least 300 stop 'n' go miles on that baby before ya take 'er up to 6k. Loss of power is probably due to the thing slippin'???

again, good luck!!!

keep us posted!

Yea
You probably need to get the whole Clutch and flywheel match balanced
