drag radials and cold

drag radials and cold ok well i just got my spec 3 in and i noticed that the car spins alot just by letting out the clutch slow or not. has anyone else noticed DR's slipping real bad when it's cold?

Well how cold are we talking? Its about 20 degrees in Dallas and I thought about driving my car some today. Theres no rain or snow in sight. So it's completely dry.
I wouldn't be totally surprised. The softer compound in the DR would harden and contract slightly. I can imagine that this would be a potential problem if cold enough.

I have Nitto drag radials on my daily driver and I always run into this problem through the winter. Not only is the weather allowing the car to make more power, but the tires aren't getting the heat it needs to provide any traction. The colder the tire, the worse it will be.

Yea, cold pavement and drag radials is like driving on grease. Even nailing it from a roll to pass someone on the highway can be tough. I've tried all different pressures on cold pavement and nothing really made any kind of differance so I think it's just one of those things that we have to live with.
in the cold just like every body else says
