Default 00 injectors into 99 - retune ?

If I swap to the factory '00 28 lb injectors instead of the factory '99 26'ers, will I need to retune ?

How much will the tune compensate towards the larger injectors (STRIMS/LTRIMS ?)

I'm guessing a bigger change (say to 30 lb'ers + ) would definately require a tuning change...

Thanks,

00 should have the 26# as well.

Oops, maybe I got the years mixed up.

I'm looking at the 28lb injectors and fuel rail from Texas Speed for $60 to upgrade from my stock 99 26 lb'ers.

Would I need to retune if I use 28lb injectors, or is it plug and play ?

Will STRIM/LTRIM compensate for the change in injector size, and if so, how much (+/-15% of duty cycle, right ?)... 26 to 28 isn't a big jump... I'd think a tune would be required at some point though...

Thanks,

I made the swap a few months back with my ls6 intake and never retuned the car. Although it would have been best to tune it, I haven't had any problems. The car still runs hard, and there was no noticable effect on gas mileage. I figure I'll get it all tuned when I decide on a cam.
