Default Fbody Vs C5 oiling system

Is there a different in the oiling system in these 2 cars? I know the oil pan is differently shaped, but does the C5 utlize a dry sump or what? My buddy is putting an LS1 into an '87 RX7 and was told the oil pan is an issue, if he can go dry sump, then that pretty much eliminates the oil pan

Oiling is the same. Oil pan is different. Pickup obviously may be slightly different too. Haven't taken my pan off of both cars to compare
