Default Resonance / Drone - modifying tubing.

Hi all - Ive got a 2.5" true dual under the axle setup. The last 16" of pipe and my exhaust tips have introduced some god awful drone. I had my under the axle setup dumping right after the PHB, and it sounded great, but once I continued the exhaust out to the back, it drones like no other. I have yet to try simply taking the tips off the car to see if its the tips that introduced drone, but I dont think it is. Theyre the polished stainless steel z28 tips coming out underneath the license plate as a home grown center mount exhaust. What can I do to keep the last 16" section of pipe from resonating like this. Can I add some weight to it, maybe by welding some angle iron to it? unfortunately theres a slight ( 10º ) bend to the section of pipe thats keeping me from adding more bullets to the back. Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks,
-Tony
