Alright guys, here is the rundown of what hotels us Chi-Town area people are using (all prices are for a double room, which can fit 4 people):
6-4: Days Inn: $78
6-5: Red Roof Inn: $69
6-6: Red Roof Inn: $84
6-7: The Raddisson: $127
6-8: Best Inn: $79
6-9: Hampton Inn: $110
6-10: BW Heritage Park: $80
6-11: BW Heritage Park: $80
*This comes out to $707.00 for four people, which is $176.75 a person for 8 days. Not too bad, but don't forget the $55 for Hot Rod per car for registration.*

Slicks are SO not a good idea.. It always rains. 2 years ago coming into the ballpark @ Arlington there were numerous crashes due to the rain, and I don't think anyone was running slicks, just alot of DR's and tubbed cars slipping and sliding down the interstate.. If you run drag radials, make sure they are new!
See ya there!

ya it was coming down friggin hard here last year. i made it half way just see silverghost and a bunch of his buddies pussying out as they were coming in the oncoming lane. i was slidding all over the place too on stock rubber! called it quits and figured everyone had left. then i learned people stuck it out :(

I'll go as far as I can but don't know about the long haul or not. Will sign up for it and see what happens.
Made it on my Nittos last year without much problems.

Last year made the Davenport to Arlington in my 67. It was a great time and pulled almost 15 miles to the gallon with my muncie and 4.10s. ( my foot was almost asleep from not moving, didnt want the double pumper wasting gas )
This year I am planning on the long haul with the LS1 95 Camaro. I just reserved rooms with help from the hotel thread. Although I'll have to see if I can swing it. Looks like some where around $1,200 round trip. ( lodging $450, gas $350, food / beer $400 ) At this point I'm going solo, current girlfriend will not go. She'll most likely be history by then anyway.
Anyone else planing the Long haul?
