I used one and I highly recommend it not because the stock bolt is bad but because the ARP is that nice, it's worth the $$. It's a straight torque to 240 ftlbs and I used their lube on the threads and under the head of the bolt, the bolt head is a 12 point 27mm socket is the size you will need.

I prefer the stock bolt and nail it with a good air gun with lot's of red locetite on the threads.Out of 30+ Cam swaps, none of them have backed off.

Not to Hi-Jack, but how hard is it to "PIN" the bolt?

I used one just because it was next to the head studs I ordered. It was right there so I said why not. I torqued in intervals. 100,150, 200, 240. Be sure and use a 1/2 inch drive extension cause a 3/8 will break dead center. I know. I used locktite on the threads also...

Huh...I just took min off to do a cam swap, and I dont have air, so I had to use the entire jack handle on a 3 ft 1/2" breaker bar!! I broke 1 big screw driver, bent a pry bar in a U shape, and bowed an extension trying to keep the pulley from turning when I loosened it. I haven't figured out how I'm gonna tighten it to 240 ftlb??

The higher the gear the harder it is to defeat the e brake. I use 4th because I've heard overdrive gears are sometimes weaker & I don't want to damage them. Here is a new tool I made tonight to attach to your stock or asp pulley for the A4 guys.

Under the car is the best way that way you are pulling down on it, I just used a 1/2" Craftsman torque wrench that goes up to 260ftlbs of torque. I also had mine on Dark Age's lift which makes it alot easier

You only need to torque the ARP bolt to 196 lb-ft if you use ARP's moly lube or blue loc-tite. Otherwise, 247 lb-ft is the correct torque value using SAE 30 weight oil. These are the updated torque specifications from ARP. Goodluck with your install.

If you pin the pulley to the crank, do you still need to torque
the bolt to 200???

Shipped the first one out today to Houston, at a cost of $17.00. I am asking $40.00 plus shipping for these. For stock pulleys you use the side with the two big pins, they fit inside the pulley and hold it in place. Flip it over and use the included 3 bolts to attach to the ASP pulley to hold it in place.

I made another one with removeable pins. So they won't be in the way unless you are removing/installing a stock pulley. Let me know which you would prefer. Here is a pic on the one with removeable pins, one is installed the other beside it to see how it works. Also the three ASP bolts. Please excuse Bodie he's a PITA sometimes.

I would like one with the removable pins because after I get the stock pulley off I do not plan on installing it again. Do you take PayPal? Please let me know. E-Mail or PM me your Paypal E-Mail. How long will it take to build and ship?
Thanks,
Bill
