Unhappy Why don't my fans turn on?

What would cause my fans not to turn on? I've noticed that when the engine has been running for a while my temp gauge sits right on the 210 mark and my oil pressure drops to 30. But when I hit some open air (highway) my temps drop and my pressure goes up. Every time I pop the hood I can never seam to see the fans on. I'm not overheating it never goes beyond the 210 mark. Ideas?

It never goes beyond the 210 mark because its a dummy guage. Get yourself an Autometer so that you'll really know what's going on with your temps.

Also, do you never hear the fans engage at all? If this is the case, check the fan relays.

Yea I know the 99+ have dummy gauges. And the relays are good.

these cars have two-speed fans and you can hardly hear them on low-speed. even with the car off they are barely audible. why don't you turn on the AC and check to see if they come on.

Did that none of the fans turn on, could it be temp sensor on the drivers side head?

probably not. that temp sensor also sends the dummy gauge a signal if I'm not mistaken.

Is it that high? That's good to know because I've never heard mine turn on either, even in the hot summer...I have a 160* t-stat and fans settings done via Hypertech btw.

I never heard my fans either untiul a friend programmed them to come on earlier with hp tuners. I know for a fact they never came on because when I heard them the 1st time I knew I had never heard that noise before. Stock, they are set very high. My 93 LT1 would get near the red zone on the gauge before fans would come on. I think its rediculous they are set that high.
