New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - Wierd buzzing noise

Coming home from the track today i started to hear a noise that sounds like a loud fuel pump. I figured it was nothing and it would go away after i came to a stop. So , I came to a stop and the humming noise is still there, then i revved a few times and ITS STILL THERE :cry:

I'm not exactly sure what it is, I know its comin from the rear of the car though... any ideas?

Sounds like the fuel pump is going to me.

you probly would have noticed this before, how low on gas where you, the gas would have muffled the noise, low on gas makes it louder, but if its noticably loud, pump is on its last leg

Just fyi...I have a LS1 fuel pump from a '98 1LE car that I have no use for. Supposedly it has 20,000 miles on it.

unit , if my pump starts acting up again i might consider buying that from you. Liquid when im on the gas its not too loud, at idle it gets really loud. My car wasnt low on gas, had almost a full tank actually.

I've had it for about 2 years now and I never did anything with it. The reason I have it is that I experienced the same thing you are now. I ended up getting rid of the car prior to the pump failing. I'll let it go for a reasonable price. :)

i wonder why its louder at idle

Mabye its just because the engine noise drones it out. Also, I just started my car up( it's cooled down now ) and the noise is gone...

Another question, is a little oil coming out of the cutout a bad thing?
